Programs and Information

This organization was founded in 1950 under the auspices of the Western District Conference of the General Conference Mennonite Church. From the beginning the emphasis was on fellowship as it expressed itself in promoting service, and in becoming involved in Conference activities. More recently the Western District Mennonite Men was instrumental in the development of Camp Mennoscah, in the development of a vital Mennonite Disaster Service unit, in establishing the Agri-Urban program, and in supporting seminary scholarships and the Ministry Inquiry program. a significant annual event is the Men and Boy's retreat which brings over 300 men and boys to a weekend camp out.

Mennonite Men of the Plains grew out of the integration process of the General Conference Mennonite Church and The Mennonite Church. Membership is open to all men from the Western District Conference and all district conferences having ties to the WDC in the integrated Mennonite Church. The Mennonite Men of the Plains does not maintain a central office but welcomes correspondence through the binational office of Mennonite Men.
