Salina Mennonite Church, Salina, Kan., is a Christian community seeking to share God’s love through celebration, nurture, service and peacemaking. The congregation was first organized in 1979. People met in several rented facilities until 2004, when they moved into their first building. The church now includes people of various ethnic and religious backgrounds who gather around concerns for peacemaking, service, community and simple living. Interim pastor June E. Thomsen has provided pastoral leadership for the congregation, made up of 64 members/covenanted attendees. Outreach ministries include a peace garden ministry, peace and social concerns ministry, Salina Cares Clinic for underserved in Salina, ecumenical ministries and small group ministries. Salina Mennonite Church is a member of Western District Conference.
